Guild (Volunteer Organization)
The purpose of the organization is to support the board of directors and staff of Hope Village for Children in accomplishing their mission statement through volunteer and fund raising activities.
- The Guild members are friendly faces for our residents. Many of the members mentor our children and have built long lasting relationships with the children.
- Many of the members volunteer each week as "one on one" tutors to help minimize the educational gaps most of our children experience from living in multiple places.
- The Guild is responsible for putting the "Happy" in Happy Birthday for each of our children. They want each child to feel treasured on their special day, so they provide a party, if age appropriate, a gift and a "happy" for all the residents.
- The Guild helps with Valentine dances, Halloween, Christmas, End of the School Year and New Years Parties, graduation needs, vacations and many other "wants" that all our own children have.
The Guild has one major fundraiser a year - The Run for Hope. It is an annual fundraiser that includes a 10K trail run, a 5K road race, a 2 mile walk, a 1 mile fun run and many other family fun activities. The Guild uses the moneys generated through this run to support all of their projects for the children.
Hope Village is so very blessed to have such a compassionate, caring and dedicated Guild! We really could not provide for our residents the way we do without their active participation.

Since Hope Village for Children is licensed by so many different agencies and must adhere to strict licensure requirements for anyone who volunteers, all of our volunteers are members of our Guild. Every member of the Guild has completed a volunteer packet which includes a background check and references.
